acsa don't define rules and restrictions

This morning acsa staff confiscated 3 harmless spanners from my bag. where does it state that tools cannot be carried as hand luggage. The Indian guy was an arrogant individual. The black guy forced me to sign a dorm not explaining the reasoning. I needed those took for work purposes and it's now a major inconvenience. The worse part is that they were not willing to keep the tools aside. They said it would disposed off. Acsa is simply *********** and inefficient and always pass the buck onto the airlines.

Hello Devank,

Thank you for contacting Airports Company South Africa Customer Care and for the feedback on your experience at our Airport.

Please note certain tools are allowed in your checked-in luggage neatly packed so that it does not damage baggage.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has a detailed list of Prohibited items.

http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items#7

Items not within compliance of this regulation are disposed of as dangerous goods. We understand your frustration and ask that when next traveling you pack these items in your checked-in luggage.

Best Regards,
Customer Care.
