Untold extra costs on account

A gentleman at Ackerman's store Scottburgh stalked me to open an account. I later agreed and he proceeded. I bought something small and the next month as well. When I wanted to pay, I realised that the amount was quite more. I then learned they have a monthly fee and interest. I told them I wasn't aware and they didn't warn me about this. I paid all I have bought for and requested to have account closed. Now they are pesting me as they keep on adding monthly fees and interest. I have an account with Truworths for years and never had these extra costs. What about people battling to survive and have to pay all these extra costs.
