too busy chatting to do work properly

I went into the Ackermans in Cleary Park and made a purchase of R212.70. IThe cashiers were chatting with one another which is a usual thing in that store. I then gave the cashier (Carey Petersen) R250 for the purchase. She put in the tendered amount as R212.70 as she was not paying attention to her work but talking to the neighbouring cashiers. I then asked my change to which she responded " how much did you give me". I told her R250 but she said she is not sure of that. She then called a supervisor to do a spot check on her till but the supervisor said that she doesn't have time. At this point I was becoming a bit agitated. I had to leave my number and without my change as they were going to check if she was over the evening when she cashes up. I feel this is very unprofessional. If she had focussed on me, her customer she would have tendered the correct amount. But she was too busy chatting to her colleagues. And the Supervisor not wanting to do a spot check was also a bit unprofessional. Because now me, the customer has to be inconvenienced. I had to leave without my change. I was not contacted after she was cashed up and have not heard anything yet today. And if and when called, I will have to go back to that store to collect change and spend extra cash on taxi to get there where if she had just done her work properly none of this would be necessary.

I am totally appalled at the service received at Ackermans yesterday and will refrain from shopping there in the future.
