NO EATING ALLOWED IN ACKERMANS STORES

Good day,

My name is Gladys Letlalo. I just want clarity on something I did not understand and consider it as bad service. I've worked in customer service environment before and surely I know that's not how we treat customers. I went to one of your Ackermans stores in Mamelodi Square on 12/01/2025 and unfortunately I could not do any shopping, I was denied access because I was eating an ice cream and they do not allow it in the store. The lady's name was Nelly, so I gracefully exited but as I was walking, I could not comprehend what Nelly said. I went back and found another lady and I asked her if that was the store's policy for customers not to be allowed in because they are eating an ice cream and she also confirmed it. I find that very bizarre and very rude. I have never been to any store and denied access because of such a silly thing. This is bad customer service. If your company really put such policies in place (which I don't believe) then you will have many complaints on your.

The Complaints Dept/Head Office response also confirmed that food and drinks are not allowed. If that is the case, why do they sell snacks at the tills in their stores? Am I also not allowed to buy and eat it? Some things just don't make sense. I have just never experienced such service, i was just appalled. Anyway, I just told myself that I shall stick to shopping at other brand stores. I'm writing this out of frustration and disbelief, it's like they were saying don't eat here or else we don't need your business!
