Misleading Customers

Good day.

I opened an account at Ackermans. They asked for my pay slip, ID and proof of employment, my service contract from the place where I've been working for since 1998 on a contract base. The account was approved and the asked me if I would like to add the protection plan to my account. I did it.

I was retrenched in February, I handed in the documents, copy of ID, retrenchment letter and service contract, the same documents that was used when I opened the account, now they don't want to approve my claim because they say the protection plan only covers you if you were a permanent employee. Why did the approve my account and added the protection plan if they knew I was a contract worker? Why did I have to pay the protection plan premium if it was not going to cover me? Now they tell me that protection plan premium is not to protect you and your account, its a monthly admin fee. I feel its not right. Why don't they tell you this when you open an account. Why do they wait till you put in a claim before they tell you contract workers ain't covered?

Its very bad service Ackermans. You are misleading customers.
