My wife made a lay-by at this Ackerman’s Store in Kraaifontein on the 22nd of May 2024.

On the 15th of July 2024 she went to cancel the lay-by and as per store policy all monies are refundable should the lay-by get cancelled before the stipulated expiry date on the receipt which is the 22nd of August 2024.

The teller said to her she cannot get a refund she must choose something in store of the same value or they can give her a store voucher of the amount.

My wife refused that and she went back again on the 22nd of July 2024 and they gave her the same excuse and that they will not refund her.

Today on the 18th of August 2024 I called the store and requested for the manager and explained the incident mentioned above and she tried fool me with the policy behind the receipt which referrers to refunds of item returns of 30 days and not lay-bys and left me bottled how can a whole manger not know her own store policy which i have attached here for ease of reference, which clearly states a lay-by can be cancelled at any time before the date of expiry with a full refund.

After some back and forward over the phone she agreed for my wife to come to the store for a full refund. My wife has just returned with no refund and she was told by the manager their offline there is nothing they can do for her. WOW Ackerman’s!!!

We are knowledgeable with off the systems transections when systems are offline or when there is loadshedding, Ackerman’s Kraaifontein takes people for fools, we want our money.
