Let me start by saying, I have always had great experiances with Ackerman until today. I placed a laybey recently with ackermans for Christmas clothes for my 2 kids. I used my drivers licence as a form if identification when U was placing this laybye.
The balance in the laybye is 1766. This morning I went to the same store to get some of the clothes out because I only had 1000 and those clothes have to be sent to another town tonight. I intend to get the remaining clothes out by the end of the week but there’s no urgency with them as the one child in in Capetown .
Anyway I got there, I explained the situation to the cashier... she told me she can cancel the laybye and get the clothes I want out and put the remaining on laybye... which I agreed to but she said this required an ID. I then explained I dont have one but I have my licence that I used to place the laybye. She refused... when she raises her voice I called for the manager.
The manager(Victor) came... he was no better as he came he claimed that policy demands an ID and that being allowed to use my licence was a favour and a break to the same policy that they are now deciding to hold. I Am puzzled at the condescending manner in which I was handled.
2nd safe guarding and enforcing policy should not be part time. He asked me is I’m saying favours should not be done to get people to open laybyes.
I wasnt even cancelling the laybye completely... and now It is either his way or no way. This is the most frustrated I’ve ever been with ackermans
