Customer abruptly told to not test a perfume at Ackermans Cresta mall

I went to Ackermans store at Cresta shopping mall today, the 16th of April 2024 to purchase my "Glamour Girl" perfume. I noticed a different fragrance called "Champagne" which I've never tried before and attempted to spray a little bit on my wrist to get a hint of the fragrance. It was then that a staff member who was standing around and chatting to her colleague (not a cashier but a floor assistant), abruptly told me that I was not allowed to test the fragrances which I found absurd as how else would I know whether it was compatible with my skin or not? I also wondered why there were no perfume testers available in the store as a customer would normally prefer to try out a product before making a purchase. It was also my first time being told to NOT try out a product ever!
