****iest cashier ever

This afternoon around 17:00, I went to Ackermans at Soshanguve Crossing where I had purchased pyjamas for my daughter on 7th February 2018, I lost the receipt and when I got to the security official, she assisted and wrote on the tag of garment that I'm exchanging, told me to go and get other pj's and go to the till.

I did exactly that and got my turn to pay, Yhoooo! The cashier was arrogant, telling me that since I lost my receipt and the item I'm returning is marked down and I'd be refunded on the mark down price. I said I bought the garment on 7 February and he said the store doesn't keep records of previous days transactions. It shocked me and I said fine, I'll accept the half payment as I didn't want to cause a line jam as there were only two cashiers in a shop with 5 tills.

I bought other garments today and after he cashed for me, he said he will go with me to the security official and didn't give me a receipt nor an explanation. So when I asked him where is my receipt, he said because I exchanged I can't get a receipt and I asked him if the garments I have purchased today require exchange and I come back and they are on sale, all the ******* did was raise his shoulders and went back to the till.

I asked the security what his name was and she said the cashier is Ndumiso, he did not even have a name badge. He treated me like he owned the store and I came to beg for the garments, forgetting that in order for him to have bread and butter it's due to proper customer service.

I had to display the attitude I received as I'm sure if he worked in a mall not in the location, he wouldn't treat people with the ****py attitude that he gave me. I'm very disgusted with what has happened!

On 14 February, a lady by the name of Shani cell called me from Ackermans Customer Care and acknowledged my complaint. She mentioned that the Divisional Sales Manager will call me and an investigation was underway, I should get a resolution in 48 hours... The store manager Glory called me later the same day expressing her sincere apology for the poor service I received and requested that I give her sometime to assist me with my complaint. She called again yesterday that I may come to the store and she will see how she can assist me in this regard by then I had luckily found my proof of payment and took it with to the store. She also mentioned that they took Ndumiso off cashier duties until further notice. When I got to the store, he was indeed not at the till and doing housekeeping duty, Glory assisted me with the service that we all deserve and I got refunded fully. Thank you Hello Peter for publishing my frustration and I'm glad it didn't fall on deaf ears and thanks to Ackermans for the speedy response. Glory mentioned that they talk to employees about good customer service daily, clearly there is something wrong with Ndumiso as he was just blatantly rude and should I go to the store again, if he is the only cashier there I'll turn back and go purchase elsewhere. Thanks for the excellent service Glory and your follow ups... Satisfied Afika
