All I want is my proof of employment is it so much to ask

This is pointed to the HR department of ackermans clothing store I am a previous employer at that company I haven't been there for 4 years now I have went this time and time again to request my proof of payment or proof of employment my last payslip it has been weeks I have not received my profit in front hands I have filed twice already in the past year I am deeply disappointed in the HR department of Ackermans my previous employer has already proven to me that he has submitted all necessary documents but yet I am still waiting from to hear from them is this fair for an employer while asking a former employer asking for their proof of employment should it take as long as it has because it has been 3 years now that I have been requesting my provident fund now that I have started on my own they need my proof of employment still it has taken them months to help me as I said I am a former employer ID number ***
