Akerman Connect Wonderpark: AlSrlling Disfunctional Phones

Bought a child a phone, phone never worked for even 24 hrs. My son kept on struggling with it. Upon going to store for the 2nd time I am told the technicians has to check the phone and it will take 4-5 weeks. Having bought the phone with the intention that my son will enjoy his time with it seems like it's something he has to dream of having in January 2024. I asked them about the return policy they told me m not allowed to return the phone passed the exchange period of 7days, when in actual fact we had issues with the phone from Day1. A simple process of going into a retail store buying a product and enjoying it is now turned into something else. Please advise what next steps can I take?
