Ackermans shifting blame to network providers for phones unassigned to network providers.
I bought a Redmi phone at Ackermans CASH in February 2026. The phone came with no SIM card and was not assigned to any network. I inserted my own MTN and Telkom sim cards.
Unfortunately the phone was ****** on 30th June. I requested Ackermans via a friend's Facebook account to block the phone. I gave them information to validate that it is me. Ackermans says I should go to MTN, then blocked me on Facebook.
Weeks past until I bought a new phone. I used it to complain to Ackermans and toldthem that MTN has nothing to do with the phone as I bought it at Ackermans and it wasn't assigned to any network. And they blocked me on Facebook when I reported the phone ******. They called to apologize but ended up aggravating the matter with insensitive and unprofessional words. We entered into back and forth emails which yielded nothing but anger and frustration on my side as they refused to explain why is MTN involved. Ackermans is still adamant that I should go to MTN to have the phone blocked, even though MTN had nothing to do with the phone. To a point where they wrote that they are closing my ticket, essentially a second block. I am now in the process of drafting legal papers to at the very least hurt them financially so they can wake up. They refuse to take responsibility for phones they sell on their own without a network provider. Then send us to providers who had nothing to do with the process.
