Ackermans Mall of Tembisa - Bad customer service

Ackermans tembisa mall lacks customer services for black customers.

On February 9, 2025, I got toughees school shoes in size five for my nephew at Ackermans store.

Unfortunately, the shoes didn't fit him when I got home.

Please take note that the size five shoe pair was the only pair left, and the rest of the shoes were size six.

I requested my baby sister to assist me in returning the shoes on February 11, 2025, because I would be at work.

The security lady at ackermans declined the shoes, claiming they were already worn.

Remember that the five-size toughees shoes were the only pair remaining; I assume that these shoes were fitted by practically by everyone, thus security said they were used.

I got the last size because other stores were closed and Ackerman's was the only store open that Sunday around 3pm.

On February 12, I called the store and talked with Johannes, the supervisor, who advised me that I should return the shoes to the store.

I sent my baby sister to Ackerman's again today, 14/02/2025, and the manager said that the “shoes were worn”. That we must wash the toughies' shoes and return them to the retailer. Does this make sense? Who washes clean shoes and returns them to the store? Especially toughees shoes?

I wouldn't let my nephew go to school with ill-fitting shoes; I am not crazy.

Ackermans must check their cameras that day and they will see me walking up and down in search of another pair of size 5 shoes.

It's not the first time I've heard of a situation where Ackermans stores at location cause customers difficulties when attempting to return items.

I'm sorry to say this, but occasionally our black stores fail us; they provide poor customer service.

I want to get my money back. I no longer want anything to do with the store
