ACKERMANS JABULANI MALL - A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

SCENARIO 1 On Saturday, 02 March 2024 I went with my mom to Ackermans in Jabulani Mall, it was the fourth time my mom was going there to get her account card. The first time around she was told that she needed to bring her bank statement and she did, then she was told to bring a marriage certificate, she did, on Saturday she was told to come and collect her card but only to get there and be told that there was another document missing (GEPF letter), mind you it is transport money to keep going there, we had to leave empty handed.

SCENARIO 2: In February I took a phone from Ackermans through the Fone yami service, this VERY Saturday, right after my mom had been sent away again, I went to pay that very phone at the same Ackermans only to be met by a cashier with a negative attitude who rudely dismissed me after : 1. I stood in the queue waiting to pay 2. She first finished an inside joke with her colleague when I arrived at the till before she could attend to me. Her reasons for dismissing me were that I didn't have the slip for the phone. I had brought my ID because the original slip had faded and even if I had produced it she still wouldn't have been able to assist me with it. She didn't even wait for me to explain that or offer me with an alternative means to pay for my phone. Luckily, Pep Cell came to my rescue and I was able to pay.

Just to note: my mother on Monday, 4 March 2024, woke up and went to Protea Gardens at Ackermans, with the same letter that was "supposedly" a prerequisite at Jabulani Mall and she was told that the letter was not really necessary because she had an SMS that had already told her that she should collect her card. She was given her card, and it was activated, a simple and quick process that wasted our time and money in Jabulani Mall. I was so disappointed and to be honest, I am doubtful if I will ever set my foot there again. Imagine coming to do an honourable thing like paying and being dismissed as if you came to beg for credit!
