Ackermans does not care about the aged and what bill them.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother in law. She is a pensioner and has been struggling with this account for a few months now, and reached out to me for help. Valerie De Bruin is the account holder of the account. She is a 68 year old woman who has not received any account statements for years now. She has an Ackerman's account and according to her records owes nothing on the account. She received messages from Ackermans to say she is indebted of R 1000 on the account and this came to her as a surprise. Because according to her she has not purchased anything on the account for years. After back and forth between phone calls and visits to the Blue Route store it is now known to her that apparently the R1000 is a policy. My mother in law has no recollection of ever signing up for any policy. Her question is why after all these months has this policy not lapsed due to non payment. Secondly why is she not receiving statements to show what this policy is for, and how this polciy breakdown amounts should be. It appears to me that Ackerman's preys on the old and frail and is demanding a pensioner now to settle this amount or else they will hand the account over to lawyers. I am requesting someone from Ackerman's please call my mother in law and try to resolve this as it is giving her sleepless nights. She would like to see proof of the policy signed up for and as well as to where are the statements and provide a breakdown. I find it hard to understand how a clothing store like Ackerman's does not send out statements to their customers.
