********* Service

Received AC DC marketing brochure on the morning of distribution stating a specific price for a Deye inverter. I immediately tried calling Ballito Branch twice to confirm stock availability with no answer (contacted within working hours). So travelled through to the store to purchase, I was told there is one last unit in stock (that I was shown), but irrelevant to the price advertised in their brochure, the price they requested was roughly R3 000 more than the brochure advertised with their reason being high demand at the moment. (There was no allowance in the brochure's small print terms and conditions to adjust the price).

I spoke to the manager requesting they honour the advertised price on their marketing brochure that had only been distributed the same morning, I immediately went to the store to go purchase upon receiving. This was declined. I asked if I could then purchase the inverter at their inflated price, with the option to return it, should I wish to within the usual 14 days the consumer protection act allows for (unopened and still in its original packaging), allowing me time to see if I was able to source the same inverter at the standard and non-inflated price AD DC felt proper charging - This was also declined as a 20% handling fee would be app**** if I did return it.

It seems AC DC feels it is fair to advertise one price, and once customers make an effort to travel through, they can charge a substantially higher price. Combined with a chargeable returns policy that I assume goes against the consumer protection act.

As a contractor in the industry, I will never support AC DC again because this is how they treat their customers.
