DANGEROUS Products + Bad After Sales Experience
<div>ACDC is selling faulty, low quality and DANGEROUS electrical products. I recently bought 3 fridge surge protectors from ACDC (Herm****) 1 worked but the other 2 seemed not to and their circuit boards were rattling around in the inside of the product, the LED lights were not lined up with the casing, etc. This, however was NOT the most disturbing aspect of these products. Of greater concern to me was the fact that these products were advertised as 15A devices. I verified with this the staff who confirmed that they are 15A. Upon inspection of the wiring they came with, however, I noted that the wiring was waaay too thin to be able to safely handle 15 Amps of current! (The wiring is 0.5mm, which is too thin.)</div><div> </div><div>Upon bringing this to the attention of the staff, they inspected the wiring and agreed with me. I said they need thicker wiring installed in order to handle 15 Amps. They then said they would send the units back to "see if they could put thicker wiring on". After a few weeks of waiting the units finally came back and I was told the technical staff said the wiring is "what it is supposed to be" and so 'they did not put new wiring' in the units. Furthermore, NONE OF THE OTHER ISSUES were addressed. The units still had loose circuit boards and the LED lights were not lined up with the casing. There were only 2 options remaining: Either I receive a refund or I could install the wiring myself and repair the issues myself. I was told, however, if I did that then it would void the warranty.</div><div> </div><div>I was referred to the manager of ACDC Herm****. I explained the situation to her and that I wanted to install the wiring myself because ACDC refused to, and so she said she would speak to the supplier and come back to me with an answer. 3 working days later I still heard nothing back and so I gave up and asked for a refund, except ACDC was unable to refund me since they had no cash to do so. I said I would return the following day, and upon doing so I was told once more that they had no cash to give me! (This after the manager assured me she would have the issue sorted out that morning.) After insisting I wanted my money, ACDC suddenly discovered that they did have cash and I was finally refunded. What is most disturbing to me is the fact that ACDC are selling dangerous products that WILL cause fires in people's homes if they attempt to use them according to the advertised current specification!</div><div> </div><div>Even more disturbing is the technical staff that the units were sent to for 'repair' DID NOT make the products safe; instead saying they have "the right wiring"! (which is a completely false statement.) Is ACDC just waiting for someone's house or business to burn down and be sued for it, or what??? ACDC does not seem to care about people's lives and property. This attitude is beyond negligent.</div>
