Tata will take you for an unwanted ride!

We bought a Tata Xenon bakkie in 2013 and immediately found strange knocking noises especially when we app**** brakes or went over speed bumps. We complained within 26 days and were told there is no knocking noise. For 2 years we continued to complain and were told there was nothing wrong. When they finally admitted in 2015 that there was something horribly wrong with the vehicle's brakes and steering, the process started to try and repair the issues. After numerous attempts, the could only make it worse until finally I gave up and laid a complaint last year May with the Motor Industry Ombudsman of SA (MIOSA). MIOSA ruled last year that Tata must collect our vehicle and have it properly tested. Tata never bothered to contact me. I then had to lay a complaint with the National Consumer Commission because MIOSA had no further jurisdiction over Tata. I received news today that Tata has **** to the NCC and told them that they requested to repair the vehicle until the warranty expired last September and NCC is now not willing to assist us. We are planning an appeal with the National Consumer Tribunal. DO NOT BUY A TATA!

Please don't waste my time or your time pretending to give a S#it, I have complained on Hellopeter because Tata IS NOT willing to help us, after 3.5 years! And if I can save 1 person the horror of dealing with Tata or Multifranchise, then I can sleep at night. Even though I'm still paying R4k a month for a piece of junk that Tata cannot fix

Dear Mrs Edwards

As per numerous requests, in order for TATA SA and an approved TATA repairing dealer, of your choice to carry out repairs as instructed by the MIO in their ruling on this case, please kindly confirm a booking at the dealer and confirm same with TATA Head Office. This will ensure that you are assisted and that the necessary repairs are carried out in terms of the MIO ruling, the Warranty on your vehicle and within Manufacturers Specification. Once a booking is confirmed TATA will ensure that a Field Technical Representative assists the dealer where necessary to ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with the warranty on your vehicle.

Kind Regards

TATA SA
