I wish to inform others about these two companies so that none else has to fall into the trap I have. I'm a new start up business and I found Apollo trade holdings details on a website when looking for a suppliers for cashew nuts. I contacted the cell phone number given. A man calling himself Tony answered and gave me a quote for cashew nuts, he then sent me a proforma invoice from Acan active investment holdings and said 50 % was due upfront and the other 50% when I receive the goods. I didn't think too much of it as the pro forma looked very legit. This was 29th May 2018. I paid the 50 % the same day. I then received an email saying I had to double my order as the minimum order had now changed and he is the middle man. they also wanted me to pay the money into a different bank account. I found this totally suspect and requested my money back explaining that I was a start up and could not afford to double my order. They wanted 5 to 7 working days to process the payment. It's now 2 weeks later. At first he answered my calls but not email or sms and made promises of payment. He now does not answer calls or just puts the phone down. The contact number on Apollo's website is the same number that "Tony" used. ( I only noticed this after not being paid back) On the Apollo website the contact details are. Mr Dan Chen +27- ********** 75 and Mr Tony Lue is also ********** . The advertise a very wide variety of items and I sure hope none else falls victim to this.
