Disappointed student

I was a student at Atvance Academy last year ,we were promised that that after we finished the course we will graduate and get our certificates but that never happened till today,I app**** for another job then when the contract ended i went to the department of labour to claim for UIF but found out that I was registered by the academy by them ,I was surprised because we never received a stipend while we were studying there and now our lives are on standstill because of that as we cannot claim for anything because of the academy, please help!!
