Biggest mistake of my life.

I am shocked and somewhat disgusted by the SOR document I received and the overall conduct of this entire institution.

From the get-go there has been an abundance of unresolved issues and problems that was ignored by the lecturer and when complaints were laid, it was dismissed on the flippant denial of the lecturer. The study material we received was outdated by years and many times over the students had to resolves serious issues among ourselves because the lecturer was either grossly *********** or summarily refused to give the proper assistance (this could possibly be because he simply had too much work to deal with, I am not sure which it is because there was always some bad excuse attached to the lack of delivery). Not only this, but the lectures turned out to be a massive waste of time for mostly everyone and once again, laying official complaints did nothing to improve this. Most of the time the lecturer's equipment was broken, he didn't know which module we were supposed to be on for that week, or the work that was covered was so crude and rudimental that it was not even on par with what was discussed in the workbook. Furthermore, when specific, more complex questions were asked about the work, it was skimmed over or met with empty promises of to-be-made video tutorials and 'send me an email' answers. What's more, when we did receive tasks to complete and I went to sites like stackoverflow, the code provided by the lecturer himself was regularly harshly criticized for being badly written, unexecutable and not even on par with the most basic C# standards. Besides this, there were a few assignments that could not be loaded due to technical issues, which was emailed to the lecturer with the promise of it being loaded onto the portal, only for me to have to complete some of these from scratch when I completed my POE because nothing was ever done as promised.This is difficult to say because our lecturer was a very great person but unfortunately that is not what we paid for and most of the people in my class only joined the lecturer for attendance purposes. If it was just myself who had this experience I would not be this upset and to be fair, I have tried very hard to be amicable when dealing with AIE, but our entire student WhatsApp group chat is a list of students complaining about what a great waste of money AIE has been and how grossly unprofessional and incompetant this institustion is. What is really shocking is the amount of money that most of us had to spend additionally just to be able to attempt the Microsoft exams and even then, some had to rewrite up to eight times - this is something an academic institution should be ashamed of and definitely be held accountable for.

Last year was out of the ordinary, exceptionally filled with unexpected personal traumatic events and disasters (on top of all the COVID related issues) for me personally after which I filled in the required Google form to ask for extension. I didn't receive a clear answer and to this day I am not really sure of what is happening with my qualification regardless of me following required steps. Then there is the case of my computer crashing and me losing all my work, including my Personal Development assignments. I have not received any feedback from the assignments that were eventually submitted (again after being in contact with AIE and requesting the needed extension WITH screenshots and video proof of my computer crashing and me losing my documents as it happened, which I believe is sufficient), and months later I still do not know if I need to rectify anything on them. What's even worse is the fact that we signed on to lectures for Personal Development with a lecturer who asks the students what they feel like discussing - it is completely unacceptable. Let's not even start to go into the fact that my student portal was locked on various occasions for fault on AIE's side and then the last time due to false information I received from someone in your finance office. Obviously not being able to access my study material will have some adverse affects on my actual studying. Lastly, I submitted my POE but due to me not being able to submit it on my portal, it was emailed through yet it still shows as not submitted. Now for the horrific SOR document I received today. For Digital Literacy it shows that I am Not Yet Competent which is impossible seeing as I completed and passed all my assignments.It lists Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 as well as Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications as Not Submitted even though they do not form part of the study track I am on and should not even be included on my SOR. My POE is also listed as Not Submitted even though it was.The exams listed under my chosen track states Not Submitted even though the exams expired and I did request an extension for my course before this as I was well aware that I will not be able to complete all of them in time (surely this needs to be taken into account because if I could have completed the exams it would have been submitted). Let it also be noted that we, the students, made the first communication between AIE and ourselves regarding the exams expiring and that AIE did nothing to proactively assist with this issue. How do you advertise a course and certification if the actual certification was set to expire before the course was meant to be completed? So thank you once again for the email but there is nothing I can do with the document you sent me. I am just grateful that I have the evidence to back my claims against AIE with the Ombudsman.
