************ Electrician

From contacting their office to dealing with the electrician on site was not a good experience. Some units (5 in total) in our complex were without electricity and I contacted (on a Sunday) ACA Trust Electrical, based on an adverti*****t in the Roodepoort Record. The electrician did some testing in the main distribution box of the complex and informed me that the main circuit breaker is faulty. On questioning him then why are all the units not off, he mentioned that only a "section" of the circuit breaker is faulty. He informed me that he can install a new circuit breaker at a cost of R22 750. We need to pay a R7 000 deposit and only then the work will start. As I have a basic knowledge, I questioned the excessive cost and did some research on the internet while the electrician was on site. A new CBI 200A circuit breaker cost R4 300 (vat incl) - this price was also confirmed telephonically the following working day. The really shocking side of the story is that the circuit breaker was not faulty at all and the problem was solved the following day by another electrician. My warning to consumers are to be vigilant and stay away from ACA Trust Electrical as they do not apply sound business practice and there only motive is to enrich themselves. Do not be misled by the "No call out fee" and "Pensioner discount". BEWARE.
