Facebook: New 15kVA Perkins Silent diesel generator with ATS

BEWARE OF THIS ****! Al O'Brian advertised on Facebook a new 15kVA Perkins Diesel Generator for sale. When I enquired about the product, he said Dylan will be in touch. Dylan Charbeneau is the sales manager of www.appowerequipment.co.za which is located in Port Elizabeth. Dylan quoted on the Genset inclusive of delivery to Pretoria. After multiple emails and telephone call with Dylan, I decided to go ahead and purchase the unit. Payment in full was made on 01 February 2022, which included R6,612.50 delivery costs. Delivery was promised within 3-5 days as stock was available. After a week went by without the promised delivery, I contacted Dylan who said he will follow up. I then received an email from TVNS FREIGHT FORWARDERS from Durban, who required a R20687.35 shipping insurance deposit. I found this extremely unusual and offered to arrange insurance of the shipment through our own insurer or even to collect the Genset using our own couriers. Both offers were declined. And thereafter I received no further communication from anyone of the people I have dealt with.
