Absolute Doors, service is an absolute disgrace!!

I have been a client of Absolute Doors for 20 years, since I moved into my current home. I have been doing business with them every now and again to service the various components of the garage doors that I have installed.

In August 2021, I had a variety of issues with one of the motors, and the springs also had to be replaced. I paid for a call-out fee, components for the motor, and springs to be replaced.

However, in April of this year, due to load-shedding, I had to operate the door manually. It does not stay in the open position, and just falls down! I contacted Absolute to ask them to resolve the issue. They want to charge me R680 call-out just to come have a look at the problem!

I have stressed to them that they performed a service, just a few months ago, but they are not interested in providing any back-up service.

I would like to know what quality components are being used, that fail after a few months. Do their personnel know what they are doing - how can it be that service is required a few months after a service is done? Is their management aware that they are losing clients that have been with them for this period of time?

Good day,
We are sorry to hear that you feel you have had a bad experience with our company. However, there has never been a fee to come and look at a problem, only to perform a service. We will always assess damage free of charge at a client's request. There is an R850 call-out fee for our maintenance teams to perform a service. This fee excludes replacing any parts, but the all-out is valid for six months after service to ensure that any problems are resolved.
According to your review, we came to assist you in August 2021. The call-out would only have been under guarantee until February. Our teams and management are aware of this issue.
