I want to echo the views of Bob K with regard to payment relief. Yes it is true ABSA tops the other banks with respect to payment relief. No stress. Nothing to submit. Only sms from them offering you payment relief. You reply yes and its done; payment relief is activated.

Apart from payment relief, I just love ABSA. I have been loving the bank long before corona invaded our country. I dont mean that i never had a bad experience with the bank. But i have learnt to distinguish between the bank and the individual who knowingly or unknowingly gives the bank a bad reputation. Many years ago i once had an issue with an indian lady who was very hateful towards black customers. It was very difficult for me because that branch was my home branch. My anger was so much that i could not stand seeing that lady. I then decided to close my account and went to the neighbouring bank. Years later i learnt that that lady had been removed from that branch. I went back and opened acc again and moved my salary deposit back to ABSA. Since then it has been smooth.

I want to say that if you honour your whatever repayment with ABSA and run to (as opposed to run away from) them when you experience difficulties, ABSA will definately reciprocate your honesty and grant you very low unbelievable interest rate next time you take a loan. I know what i am talking about. ABSA is financing my car and my brother's. I get shocked when other people tell me what rate they are paying on their cars.
