Worst service with ABSA *****

I experienced a *****ulent removal of funds from all my accounts 14 June, and reported to ABSA *****. I then submitted all the requested paperwork, opened case with SAPS etc on 16 June (Monday). I was then messaged to say an agent would be in touch within 48 hours. This never happened. When calling the ABSA ***** dept, they told me it took up to 20 working days to get an outcome on the case. This date passed I began to call the ***** line. I was given the investigator concerned with my case's name. I tried to reach her, but she never answered, the agents online then elevated the case, and again no response, I tried to speak to her supervisor, again no reply, I then emailed the investigator supervisor, still no response. I then began calling every day, to still have no contact with either person. I then through a phone operator was told the investigator would call me back, she never did. I kept calling, and days later got a reply email from her supervisor to say she would look into it, still no reply. Eventually I managed to get a commitment from the investigator that she would call. She did call with apologies and assured me she would have the case sorted the same day or the next, and still she never rep**** on either day or days after. I called again, and was told she wasn't available, so I called early one morning, and she called me to say she would resolve the case that day 25 July 2025. I never got the call 15.15, so I called again, and she called back to then say the case had been turned down, as I had used my phone during the ***** incident and that ABSA's protocols had not been breached. The simple fact that the *****sters had accessed my account through my phone, indicated clearly that ABSA's protocols had been breached..

I have been with ABSA for over 30 years, with them being the slowest bank to overcome issues such as forex dealing, I've never had any debt or credit issues, and this how you get treated. It's time to move on.. Terrible bank.
