Worst experienced with ABSA ***** ever!!!!!
The most frustrating experience I have had with ABSA ***** occurred on December 11th. I was deceived by a woman impersonating an ABSA ***** representative, resulting in a loss of R12,388.00.I promptly contacted ABSA ***** to request the reversal of the funds. However, they informed me that the matter had been escalated to a crime case and that I needed to follow specific procedures. The following day, I visited the police station to submit an affidavit. I accompanied it with a typed letter detailing the events, the time, the call number, and all relevant messages. Despite my efforts, the process was arduous.I consistently contacted ABSA ***** weekly, occasionally daily, seeking updates on my case. Unfortunately, I received no responses. For fivemonths, the investigator was preoccupied with other cases and failed to contact me. In April, after making numerous calls, ABSA ***** requested a case number. I promptly visited the police station, where they assisted me in obtaining one. I then forwarded it to ABSA *****. Receiving a message from ABSA stating that they had concluded the investigation, I visited the branch to inquire about the implications. However, the staff there was unable to comprehend the message. I subsequently contacted ABSA ***** to ascertain the location and content of the letter they were referring to. They assured me that they would return to me promptly. Unfortunately, no action was taken. I am deeply disappointed with ABSA’s response

26 May 2025, 08:24After 20 years of being a loyal ABSA client and paying banking fees, this is how they treat their clients!! After more than 5 months and numerous calls… they are only coming back to me after my Hello Pieter review to tell me.
I’m not getting a cent back from them.
I asked her what their decision was based on? She said that the *****ster’s account was a “holiday account” that they gamble out of. I rep**** that I immediately after the transaction was done,literally seconds after… I phoned ABSA ***** to reverse the transaction, they told me they can’t help me it’s a crime case and refused to reverse the transaction. My question is why refuse?
I asked her if they went through the RICA process with that “account” she said they’re still investigating that. How can the investigation still be pending but to me, they concluded that my case is finalised? I would not be reinbursed?
If they followed all the RICA steps… the *****ster’s personal details should be available to ABSA.
I’m not getting a cent back from them.
