Worst experience with Absa

The Absa branch in Colesberg must be the worst branch in S.A. I have never gone into that branch and came out satisfied. Today we went there to update our Fica as requested. Firstly, the woman dealing with customers did not greet us, then went into a long tirade because we dared to present green I.D. books, stating that Absa now only accepts I.D. cards. If this is Absa's policy I suggest that they take up the matter with Mr. Screiber, Minister of Home Affairs, who stated publicly that the green books are still in force. We then went to the teller to do a simply transfer to our local municipality. She then "accidentally" forget to press the print key and could not give us a receipt for the transaction, leaving us with no proof to present to the municipality. My husband is 80, I'm 78, both frail and weak, in no condition to stand in long queues at Home Affairs, so if our green I.D. books are not acceptable we will have to go to another bank where it is acceptable. Please be advised that if you want to open a new bank account with a green I.D., do not go to Absa.
