Worst experience ever - Would not recommend Absa at all
I have been under debt review for roughly the last two and a half years. Over the last two months or so I have settled all my accounts in an effort to clear my name completely. Wesbank, Consumer Friend and Vodacom provided me with fantastic support and were extremely effective during the whole process from requesting settlements up to completion and confirmation of settlement of account letters. With Absa this process has been a bit of a rough ride, especially with regards to my personal loan account. After a bit of a struggle I finally received a settlement from Absa on 26 May 2023 for R 32,600.00 - This was paid 29 May 2023 and the proof of payment sent through via email. After the payment was made we have been going backwards and forwards ever since with Absa saying that there is still R 8,118.35 outstanding on the balance - Thusega Debt Councellors has sent numerous emails attempting to resolve and clarify this - each time attaching all the necessary supporting documentation and each time Absa simply just responds again stating that there is still an outstanding amount of R 8,118.35. Over the last few months I have literally went above and beyond in an attempt to clear my name - not running away from any of my obligations but instead facing it head on and honoring my commitments to my creditors to the fullest extend - I must admit, I am utterly disgusted and extremely disappointed in the service received from Absa and honestly don't know what else I should do to resolve this matter. To make matters worse I received an email from Absa where all my clearance certificates for all my settled accounts (with a balance of zero) has been declined - How in the world is this even possible? I mean I have settled all my accounts (Except for my home loan) in full as per the settlements received from Absa, they have issued me with paid up letters and then a few weeks later I am notified that all my clearance certificates has been declined. When you try and phone you simply get redirected from the one person to the next, no one is able to provide you with assistance and it feels if every person that you speak to attempts to simply just pass you on to the next. When you communicate via email you get no response or if you are lucky enough to receive a response it seems as if the response is some form of computer generated response with the person sitting on the other end not looking at your enquiry at all. As stated above I received incredible service from Wesbank, Vodacom and Consumer Friend however the service received from Absa has been absolutely appalling and a nightmare of note. I have done everything in my power to fight my way out of my hole that I found myself in sticking to my commitments at all times yet for some weird or wonderful reason Absa just doesn't care. I would definitely not recommend you to anyone out there, not even to my biggest enemy.
