Worst bank I have ever dealt with in my 63 years.

The only reason why I am still with Absa, is because my home loan is still with them. It is the most terrible bank to have accounts with. I will explain why.

let me start with the most recent first: They keep on harassing me by sending me messages "reminder" me to pay my home loan, credit card etc as if I am a child. It is most annoying, as my home loan and credit card is up to date. Every month I pay a certain extra amount in my home loan account. then from there I transfer the money to my credit card account and cheque account. I have been doing it for years like this. The last couple of days I have been trying to do it again, like previous months. It was not allowed by Absa internet banking to do it. I phoned home loans yesterday and halfway through the conversation I got cut off. Obviously, I expected the Absa agent to call me back being the client? It never happened. I called today again. (32 min and 2 sec on my account). I got told that I must first send them proof of insurance that my bond account is covered. ( No messages in advance to request this!) Just messages that my credit card was due and not paid. I cannot transfer funds to my credit card because of this problem. my house burned down about 7 years ago. Absa told me then, that I was "underinsured" and paid me out a ridiculous sum. (They them insured my house for R3.7 mil) So it must still be insured with them, or did they cancel it without me knowing it?) By the way, my bond is a mere +-R310 000! So I CANNOT MOVE MY EXCESS MONEY IN MY BOND ACC TO MY CREDIT CARD, BECAUSE OF ABSA. BUT THEY THREATEN ME WITH MESSAGES TOM PAY MY CREDIT CARD. "It could reflect negatively on my credit record" they say. This is ridiculous!!!I am so extremely disappointed with Absa in each in every way. How can I move everything that I have to another bank"? i am 63 years old and I cannot take this "abuse" anymore!! I really feel like crying. I asked the lady for the manager to phone me, as I am on my way to this site. Nobody even bothered. So do not bother to phone me when you see this review. It's too late. I learned a very good lesson. Keep my money in another bank, which I can trust.
