Widow and mother suffering due to Absa instantlife bad service

I need help to with this matter. My husband passed away June 2018. He took out a life insurance policy to ensure our children are taken care of in the event of his death.

His untimely passing has put major strain on the well-being of our 15 year old twins as he was the primary provider. One of the twins are visually impaired and requires medical care which has been impossible to upkeep.

Since he passed we notified Absa instant life and submitted a claim. Absa instantlife life claims administration has since been "processing the claim". They have put us through hell making copious amounts of requests for information and doctor's reports which have provided.

He declared his illnesses and ensured that his policy payments were up to date at the time of his untimely passing, which was declared natural causes. The claims department have been dragging their feet in finalising the claim and we continue to wait indefinitely. The communication is sporadic and lawyers bills increasing.

My childrens school fees and medical bills have not been paid for an entire year and as we approach the new school year we still remain in arreears. As a mother and now sole provider of the children it's been hell. We are in the process of losing our home and I can ill afford to take care of them with my meagre salary. Their quality of life and their pain and suffering is becoming insurmountable. We have not been able to mourn his passing and we are struggling daily.

I need help to make sense of why processing a life insurance claim can take close to 2 years to process.

This is so unfair and unacceptable

Please please help

Good morning

I need to know if you have any further feedback for us on my matter.

I need to get my claim finalised with Absa with urgency. Whilst every parent is overjoyed on the first day of the new school year , I recieved an email advising me to not send my child back to school tomorrow as he is no longer welcomed, as the outstanding fees of 2019 has still not been paid. I have been trying my level best but simply can't keep up. same time my daughter, who is also visually impaired , who requires medical care for her chronic condition no longer has medical aid as our plan was suspended due to non payment.

If you want proof of these em I will gladly send it.

I need Absa instantlife to do the right thing and honour our claim. They have been "assessing " my claim for close to 2 years with no finality in sight.

I am not going to stop until they do the right thing. I will continue to take to social media and the highest court in the country if need be. My aim is creating awareness of how Absa instantlife plays with people's lives especially after a loss of a loved one. Us widows and the children suffers insurmountable pain and suffering whilst they play roulette with our lives. I want this matter finalised so that we can go on with our lives in peace and grieve our loss.
