Why oh why did I ever leave FNB.

I am a South African citizen working and staying abroad in the UAE. I have visited South Africa in April, and one of the key intentions for the visit was to open a South African bank account to transact with while abroad. I opened the account in April and shortly after I requested that my RVN be sent to my email instead of mobile phone number because I would not have a South African phone number while I was outside South Africa, I made this request initially at the branch after which I was told this process could only be completed by emailing the RVN team ********** I have been trying to do this now since April and everytime I send an email to RVN4U, I am greeted by an auto-response from Absa, and after about a week I'll get a call from a South African number (ABSA) which will ring one time, and thereafter I'll receive an email saying :

"Thank you for your email.

Kindly note that we have attempted to reach you telephonically on the number below without success"

And then I will never hear from ABSA again. When I try to contact them, they tell me the RVN team only corresponds via email and then tells me they will contact the RVN team on my behalf and mark the message as urgent and then I never hear from them again.

This is not the only problem either. A few days ago, I sent some money from my account in the UAE to my ABSA account of which I received a reply from ********** to verify the reason for the money, etc which I understand is protocol. After this, however, I was told that the beneficiary name which it was addressed to was in actuality the bank name and I had to get an amendment from the person who sent it. I then informed them that I was the sender, sending the money to my own bank account made via online banking and I don't understand what amendment they need me to send and requested that if the amount is not credited to my bank account to then send the money back to my foreign account. I have not received a reply again, and now my funds are somewhere in escrow neither in my UAE bank account nor in my ABSA bank account.

The service of ABSA is absolutely atrocious, I should have never closed my FNB account. FNB is by far a superior bank in every way possible. Rest assured, I will be returning to SA shortly to close my ABSA account because I'm sure there isn't a way I could do it from where I am now, and if there were, I don't even want to consider what nightmare of a process I will have to go through.

Gerald from RVN already assisted me with the RVN process and he was very helpful. I am still awaiting clarification on my inward bank remittance from TRIS though.
