Why even bother making a payment arrangement???

I am very unhappy with the service received from ABSA regarding my credit card & vehicle finance payment arrangements made.

I called on 27/28.05.2022 to make a payment arrangement on both accounts. Both accounts are up to date but because I was not going to be receiving my full salary (due to medical reasons) for a couple of months and did not want the debit orders to bounce or my account fall in arrears.

The lady I spoke to the day told me that the c/card arrangement has been made and that the payment that would go off would be R900.00 (cannot remember the exact amount). I had to call numerous times to confirm the vehicle finance amount that would go off, each time being told a different story. On Friday 24.06.2022 I was told to contact the people in charge of the payment arrangements to escalate the arrangement *** / *** / ***) None of these calls were answered.

Now the FULL debit orders have gone off (during the weekend) leaving me in a very difficult position for the month - exactly what I wanted to avoid hence making the arrangements!!

When I called this morning I was told the following:

Vehicle finance - arrangement has been sent through again (TODAY) and someone will get back to me in SEVEN DAYS!! This after the original call a month ago!! Credit card - arrangement had been made but I needed to cancel the debit order for the original amount and do a transfer/deposit for the R900.00! Nobody told me this!!

I feel that I have done my part, if not more, to keep the relationship and account in a proper manner but ABSA and/or their staff has dropped the ball and left me unfairly at a disadvantage for the month to come.

Why do I even bother to make an arrangement if nobody is capable to give me the correct information resulting in me having to, somehow, make ends meet this month because of their ignorance????

I'd like this sorted out URGENTLY. I have submitted a complaint on their website but surprise surprise - no response.

FNB/Capitec is looking better and better for me due to the incompetance at ABSA!!
