Why ABSA?
When you call the ABSA contact centre number *** be prepared to be very patient and be in a quiet place to listen and try and remember all the options you will hear in order to get to the right place. Mine was debit card division or accounts department. All I want to do is talk to someone. Almost impossible to do through the Absa contact centre. After pressing option 6 then option 3 then option 3, I got lost but fortunately by randomly pressing 0 I got to speak to some one after 10 minutes to be told she will transfer me to accounts but after 5 minutes of continuous music I could hold no more and hung up. I have tried this for days to get my debit card/cheque account card replaced. I had this account since early 80's when it was still Al**** bank and my debit card never came with an expiry date. Only my credit card has an expiry date. I cannot use this card now as at the till points/paypoints I am told it has expired? My Debit card has no expiry date on it nor have I recieved anything from Absa to say it is expiring or that a knew one is being delivered? What do I do? I live in Hogsback, Eastern Cape and ABSA banks are not just around the corner so I tried phoning to find out but clearly that is not going to get me anywhere. Please can someone talk to the Contact Centre Manager at ABSA and tell them that not only are they failing their loyal customers but failing their Company as well. Maybe I can only hope that someone will call me back and attempt to restore my faith in a Company I have invested my money with for the past 35 years? Who knows? Regards Angus Park
