What does "provisionally approved" mean to Absa

I app**** online for an Absa account, including an onverdraft facility which was "provisionally approved".

The account (platinum) was opened, and I had to go to the branch to phisically take proof of residence and Id and my previous bank statements. I was informed that the overdraft should become effective as soon as my salary gets paid into my account. My salary was paid in , nothing else has happened.

I would not have gone to the trouble of opening an account and moving my salary etc. if they indicated that they were not prepared to give me an overdraft.
