I accompanied my mother and her stokvel friends to the Absa branch in Alberton to sort out their signing arrangements and mandates and when we got there we were advised that they needed to book an appointment between Monday and Friday and that they could not assist us. We then proceeded to drive to Chrishani Mall in Vosloorus to the the Absa Branch there, when we arrived it was packed, however we were hopeful that they would be assisted as they were advised to take a seat. Amongst them was an elderly woman who could barely walk and old women with all kinds of ailments including my mother, but that was not taken into consideration when after 3 hours sitting there, they were advised that their query could not be resolved as the party that had to be removed from the signing arrangement they initially had needed to be present. To show that admins at the bank do not go through the same training, the one advised they could help and a form could be signed noted, " refused to sign" by the party that was not present. The other male consultant who could not be bothered advised that they could not be assisted, after 3 hours of sitting at the branch, he merely dismissed them and advised they should return once the other party is available. Business managers were no where to be find, both physically and telephonically to authorize for this process to continue. Now my mum and her friends have been part of Absa for more than 20years to have received such treatment from the branch, in all essence they are looking to move their account as they are not being assisted in any way. No designated business manager to check up and find out how they can make their lives easier, nothing of that sort and to be chased out of a branch after 3 hours of sitting and waiting to be assisted, that was inconsiderate on every level. Absa Chrishani is by far the worst consultants should be taught customer service.
