VISITING ABSA IS A TIRESOME EXPERIENCE

In order to get a new debit card be prepared to wait for ages as the process is painstakingly long-winded! It should be a flawless, simple thing to do but this is not the case. There were only two Absa staff members in attendance at the Richards Bay branch the other day when I went but there are five desks ... what for I don't know. Anyway, the one lady was helping another person and they eventually walked over to another booth and were still there when we left almost an hour later. I had to have my fingerprints taken four times, sign four times, along with all the other info that the staff member typed into the computer. It is ludicrous that this is the process one has to go through and what's more, the fact that one has to renew a perfectly good debit card is also ludicrous. All that plastic waste going into the landfill when the least they could do was make the stupid thing valid for 10 years. In this day and age one would think that a card renewal would be easy and quick, not so much. Make sure you set aside ample time as Absa clearly likes to take all the time they want.
