Very sad

I am writing to express my extreme frustration and anger regarding ABSA’s continued failure to protect my personal and banking information, despite this matter being formally reported earlier this year.

I previously lodged a complaint informing ABSA that my bank statements were being sent to my old residential address, which I no longer occupy. I made it explicitly clear that I did not consent to receiving posted statements, and I raised serious concerns that my personal information had already been compromised as a result of this negligence.

Despite this, I am shocked and deeply disturbed to report that the exact same issue has occurred again today.

My former neighbour has sent me a photograph of my bank statement, which was reportedly handed to him by his son after being found at my previous address. This means that my sensitive personal and financial information continues to be circulated among third parties without my consent.

This is a serious breach of my privacy and a gross failure on the part of ABSA to safeguard my personal data. I need to ask: • Does ABSA fully understand the severity of this situation? • Does ABSA appreciate the level of risk this exposes me to, including identity theft and *****? • Why was this issue not resolved after my initial complaint?

Your continued negligence has now placed me at significant risk, and this is completely unacceptable for an institution of your size and responsibility.

I demand the following with immediate effect: 1. A full investigation into how and why my statements are still being sent to the incorrect address. 2. Immediate confirmation that all postal statements have been permanently stopped. 3. Written confirmation of the corrective measures taken to ensure this never happens again. 4. An explanation of how ABSA intends to address the compromise of my personal information.

If this matter is not treated with the urgency and seriousness it deserves, I will have no choice but to escalate it to the relevant regulatory authorities and pursue further action.

I expect a prompt and detailed response.
