Very disappointing experience with Absa and assigned banker Eugene Gwate
I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received from Absa, particularly from my assigned banker, Eugene Gwate.
I was unable to fully transact on my account due to outstanding FICA requirements. I went to the Absa branch in Bloemfontein on 22 and 23 July to resolve the matter, only to be informed that Mr Gwate, who is my assigned banker, was on leave.
Following the advice I received from the branch, I sent an email to Mr Gwate on 24 July regarding the issue and requested assistance. Despite doing exactly what I was advised to do, I have still not received the assistance required.
What is most frustrating is that this is a banking matter that directly affects my ability to access and transact on my account. I have made the effort to visit the branch and communicate via email, yet I am still left without a resolution or proper feedback.
This experience has been extremely frustrating and has left me questioning the quality of Absa's customer service and accountability. If a client is assigned a personal banker, there should be an effective process to ensure that the client is assisted, especially when the assigned banker is unavailable.
