VEHICLE REPAYMENT ARRANGEMENT
Last month, December 2017, I was unable to pay my monthly installment for my vehicle, which is financed through AVAF, due to financial problems. I had phoned AVAF earlier in December to find out if a plan could not be made in terms of payment arrangements, as I had anticipated the situation, but they simply told me nothing could be done. Earlier this month, after the installment was still in arrears, a lady from AVAF phoned me and stated that a payment arrangement could indeed be made. We agreed then that the unpaid amount could be split in 2. One half would be debited from my account on Monday, the 29th of January 2018. My normal full debit order for the vehicle for this month would then still go off on 1 Feb 2018. The other half would then be paid on 1 March, together with the full debit order for that month. However, when receiving my salary last night and logging into my Online Banking this morning, I see a full installment had been debited from my account. This is not what was discussed or agreed upon in terms of the arrangements made. I believe this is extremely unfair and is negatively affected my credit rating, as I simply do not have the finances to pay double my installment this month!
