VEHICLE FINANCE DISCREPANCY

I am very disappointed in Absa Vehicle Finance.

To my knowledge before you finance a vehicle you have to check all details correspond to those that are of the car that is being financed and those provided by forms.

About 2 years ago I bought a car, the owner advised me it was a 2009 model, On my vehicle finance statement it states 2009, however when trying to trade it in, the dealership asked Absa for copies of the vehicle reg docs and they confirmed it was only a 2008 model. Which made a R28 000 diffrence in trade-in value.

I fully understand that it my responsibility to check those things, however I never ever saw the papers to the vehicle, no one from Absa ever sent me copies, so how was I supposed to know. Also had I have had to claim from my insurance nothing would be paid out as the details are incorrect. I would honestly expect a much better service from Absa as I have been receiving great customer service over the period of being financed.

I have recently app**** for finance through VW and they were the ones that informed me of the discrepancy.
