VEHICLE FINANCE
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my vehicle purchase and finance arrangement concluded on 15 January 2025.
On that date, I purchased a vehicle financed through Absa Vehicle Finance. As part of the transaction, I traded in my previous vehicle, which was financed through WesBank. I was clearly informed that the outstanding balance on my previous vehicle would be settled as part of the deal.
To my shock and distress, WesBank continued debiting my account in January and again in February 2026. I have since contacted WesBank directly, and they have confirmed that although a settlement request was made, the account was never settled and no settlement payment was received.
This confirms that the agreed settlement of my trade-in vehicle was not finalized as promised.
I have made several attempts to contact the dealership telephonically, but my calls have either gone unanswered or I have been treated in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. I was advised that Absa would refund me and was asked to provide my banking details, yet no clear explanation or resolution has been provided to date.
This situation has caused me significant financial strain and emotional stress. What was meant to be a joyful purchase has turned into an ongoing source of anxiety, to the extent that it is affecting my sleep and overall well-being. I reside in the Eastern Cape, far from Pietermaritzburg, which further complicates my ability to resolve this matter in person and the name of dealership is MBS AUTOMATIVE .
I request the following urgently:
Written confirmation of whether any settlement payment was made to WesBank.
If payment was made, proof of payment including the date and amount.
An explanation as to why the settlement was requested but not finalized.
Immediate corrective action to settle the outstanding balance.
Reimbur*****t of all amounts debited from my account after 15 January 2025.
A clear timeline for full resolution of this matter.
