Urgent Complaint : Burglary ***

Claim Number : ***: Urgent Complaint Regarding Burglary Claim - Lack of Action and Communication

As per ABSA, burglary claims take priority and should be resolved within 3-4 days, it is now almost 3 weeks late and my repairs have still not being finalzed. I am highly frustrated regarding the handling of my burglary claim, which was logged with Absa on December 4, 2023. As per the call center staff, ALL managers are on leave, so what must I, the client do in this case?

Despite their burglary turnaround times, there has been no substantial progress, and the service provider, TTASA, has repeatedly failed to fulfill their commitments.

The assigned representative from TTASA, Thulani, has proven to be highly unreliable. The first scheduled appointment on December 15 was a complete no-show, with his cellphone turned off and no attempts to contact me. Only on Monday, December 18, did he resurface with the excuse that his company had encountered issues securing the necessary materials for the repairs. Throughout this period, there was a lack of communication and updates on the progress of my claim.

I spoke to Yola at the call center many times whose service is shocking as she does not ever call back as promised. Upon contacting Absa, I spoke with Johannes, who informed me that he had approved the revised quote on December 20 and insisted that TTASA must proceed with the repairs. However, Thulani continued to provide empty promises and excuses without any concrete actions. Subsequent to his promise to visit Builders Warehouse, there has been no indication of progress, and he has not provided any updates or confirmed dates for the repairs.I have to keep contact him and he refuses to answer his cell.

To add to the frustration, Thursday, December 21, passed without receiving any communication regarding a confirmed date and time for the repairs. This lack of professionalism and accountability is unacceptable.

Today, December 22, at 7:46 am, Thulani finally communicated that he would be at my property by 2 pm. However, as of 2:30 pm, he has once again failed to appear, and his cellphone is switched off. This is the second consecutive Friday that repairs were scheduled, and he has not fulfilled his commitments.

This ongoing ordeal has caused me immense stress and inconvenience, and I find the level of service provided by TTASA to be entirely unacceptable. I urge Absa to investigate this matter urgently, expedite the resolution of my claim, and reconsider the use of TTASA as a service provider.

I expect a prompt response and a clear plan of action to address and rectify this situation as I have a door that cannot lock and a driveway gate that is on manual which is high risk to my home and family!

It is shocking how a flagship company as ABSA deals with such pathetic, useless service providers who gives a damn about their clients.
