Unsatisfactory Service for an ill client.
I bank with both NEDBANK and STANDARD BANK. And getting new cards have never been an issue. My aunt has an account with ABSA. She is unable to go the bank to have a new card issued to her due to her illness. She resides in chatsworth, Durban. Due to her illness she has a caregiver. After calling the bank to explain the situation, we were advised that she can use the banking app to get a new card delivered but still needs to go in to get her pin activated. How does this even make sense? There has to be some way to assist your clients in this day and age? I mean come on.

21 Jun 2023, 09:52Thank you to Rezona Louw for TRYING to assist. But alas, they are requesting power of attorney to be done to enable the PIN for the card. Which is not an immediate solution.
But just to add on here, my aunt also banks with Nedbank, and a banker from Nedbank had gone to her Flat to assist her with whatever she needed and that included having made copies of her ID etc. So they made a plan to try and help and they succeeded.
So I am not coming back to this, the process to either do the power of Attorney will be be done or alternatively hiring of a wheelchair eventually. And then when she gets to the bank I would love to see how they handle the inability to use her fingers to do biometrics. Please do not call me again.
