Unprofessional Service

After recent advertising I decided to give Virgin Insurance a call.

On Monday morning an advisor from your company gave me a call.

In the initial call I said right from the start that we would like to get a quote on 2 vehicles, I that I am the driver of and one where my partner is the regular driver .

Right at the beginning of the quote when I was asked my marital status I informed the advisor that my partner and I are living together but we are not married.

Even with this information the advisor started the quotation process. We spent 20 minutes on the phone and only after I had to explain a couple of time who will be driving which vehicle was I informed by the advisor that because we are not married we won't be able to cover both our cars on 1 policy.

If your policy does not allow people who is living together but not married to insure their items on 1 policy how should we insure our home contents?

Why was I not advised of this in the beginning of the call when I disclosed that I want to ensure 2 vehicles and that we are not married.

She then called my partner to continue the quote, my partner is a project manager and occasionally travels to building sites for inspections, and due to the nature of her job she carries a tape measure with her should she need to take measurements.

Again the advisor was not sure of this and but her on hold.

She came back with a response that because she carries equipment for business use they won't be able to continue with a quote.

How can carrying a measuring tape be compared to some one that carries equipment and tools for trade/business purposes???This is not tools and equipment but only a measuring tape?

The advisor had to put us on hold to ask her manager all the time, she is clearly unsure of the products she is selling and wasted our time.
