Unprofessional and Inconsiderate Process for RFP

In September 2023 we were invited by Absa Group Limited to partake of the process for Talent Acquisition Perm (Fixed)recruitment & Executive Search RFP #13739 Invitation The preparation and submission of the online information was a very onerous, complicated and lengthy process so I had to engage a Tender Writer to complete the application. This was a costly and time consuming process since I had to take a lot of time from my normal day to day duties in order to provide the Tender Writer with the information. On 21 December 2023 I received the following notice from Absa: "After evaluation of our strategy we unfortunately will be placing the RFP on hold until further notice. Should we move forward, we will not consider any BBBEE certificated with >level 3." This meant that as a Level 4 BBBEE contributor, that I would not be considered as a supplier. It was such a surprise to me. In spite of all their disclaimers I consider that that Absa was irresponsible to put recruitment agencies through such great expense and input of time knowing that in the final analysis those agencies would be disqualified. Further, to send such an email just before Christmas is insensitive, inconsiderate and ill timed. Absa's response to my concerns did not in any way redeem them.
