Riding home from Jhb to Port elizabeth the absa system decided to stop accepting the newer credit cards. All the vendors along the route could tell us the same story. The newer cards from ABSA were giving them hassles. Not a word from Absa. On the road without acess to professional banking services is incredibly frustrating, embarrassing and tends to ruin a holiday. No warning from Absa no acknowledgement just a client struggling. No one carries enough cash to cover petrol and accomadation. <br> To add to it when we contact them we have to go in to a branch which is crowded excessively busy and the staff don't even seem to understand one has to now unblock their card. They should have been prewarned clients may be coming in and know where to send them. What is wrong with Absa's system that this should happen. How good is their security and service that they are either unaware while all the vendors know or dont care to let their clients know.
