Unnecessary Insurance Debit

ABSA recently debited my account related to insurance coverage that I did not require or authorize for the amount of R1 763.64 on the 30 November 2023. I am furious to discover this deduction, as I have not been contacted or informed about this charge for insurance coverage. I find it alarming that I was not given the opportunity to verify or discuss the necessity of this insurance policy. I was not aware that I am sharing my bank account with ABSA hence maybe that's why they do as their like with my money. Why was I not contacted or informed about the initiation of this insurance policy? What communication channels were attempted, and can you provide evidence of these attempts? Can you verify the necessity of this insurance coverage for my specific circumstances?

Given the unauthorized nature of this transaction, I request an immediate refund of the debited amount to my account. I expect prompt and transparent resolution of this matter. Failure to address this concern satisfactorily may necessitate further action, including reporting the incident to relevant consumer protection agencies.
