unnecessary charges to due to *********** assistant at Absa Jabulani Mall
iv had an account with Abasa for years. but early this year while i was at the bank the lady who was assisting me encouraged me to change to cheque account as this was going to help me save from all the day to day charges.I decided to change then. during this, the lady explained to me that the monthly charges will be about R105 if this is accurate. she asked me if i would like to have my charges run when my salary drops in. i responded yes. but i later realized that they were taking about R200 from my account. i then decided to change from receiving my salary from Absa to a different bank as i felt this was too much and different from what i was told upon application but did not close it immediately. now i received a call saying I owe R400 when i ask how, I'm told that because they did not find the money on the second day of every month so they put in charges. hence i ended up paying R200+ a month. when i asked how can this be corrected the guy at the call center says there is nothing that can be done as on their system it says they should collect on the 2nd of every month.what annoys me is that long before i changed to the cheque account my salary has always dropped into the account on the 15th why did the lady decide to change the date to the 1st of the month? now i have to pay for someones mistake. Absa takes peoples monies and tell you there is nothing they can do. be careful
