I took out a loan with absa and unfortunately due to financial difficulties I fell behind on my installment they then referred my account to their lawyers. The lawyers called me to make an arrangement in which i told them i will be able to start making payments end of July 2021 to my surprise absa went into my bank account end of June and deducted R3600 which is even above my installment of R3000. I then contacted their loan department to address the issue and a very rude lady told me they can go into my account anytime and deduct if I am not paying, I then explained to her that an arrangement was made through their lawyers, she then said she will escalate the matter.

Their lawyer contacted me again to make an arrangement I then told them I did and they should listen to their recording to resolve this issue. To date i have had no response from absa or their lawyers.

Absa had no right to go into my account and deduct my money without consulting me and worse of all insist they can go anytime and do that even if you have made arrangements with them
